AUSTIN, Texas — John Gusky joined KVUE News as a news photographer in 1990, after also shooting news in Lousiana and Alabama. His photojournalism has been honored by the National Press Photographer's Association, the Associated Press, and the Heartland Regional Emmys. In 1995, Gusky moved into newsroom management as news operations manager, overseeing logistics, budgeting, scheduling and a long list of other operational responsibilities.
Though Gusky spends much of his time in the office, he still finds time to contribute content to KVUE's newscasts and online platforms by shooting video and photographs of many of Austin's marquis events. Much of KVUE's coverage of SXSW, ACL, the Capitol 10K, UT football and other events include video and photographs produced by Gusky.
Gusky grew up in the Dallas area and graduated from Northeast Louisiana University with a BA in filmmaking and a minor in journalism.
