AUSTIN, Texas — Matt Fernandez is a reporter at KVUE. He joined the team in March of 2022.
Matt comes to Austin after working in Orlando for four years at Spectrum News 13.
He also worked in Texas along the Rio Grande Valley at KVEO. He did a lot of work at the Mexico border, including covering border violence and immigration issues.
He has more than 15 years of reporting experience. He's also a Michigan native and a graduate of Western Michigan University.
Matt loves to travel and has been to Dubai, Spain and other countries, and he's been to almost every U.S. state. His hobbies include hiking, playing golf and watching sports.
Matt is excited to be Austin. He’s a big lover of the city's great barbeque!
