AUSTIN, Texas — Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says he has enough signatures to be on the November ballot in Texas.
On Monday, Kennedy posted photos on social media, showing his team at the Texas Secretary of State's Office, turning in 245,572 signatures to be on the ballot.
The Secretary of State's Office confirmed to KVUE that the signatures were turned in, but said there is no timeline on how long it will take its staff to verify them.
To appear on the ballot, independent candidates have to get 113,151 signatures from registered voters who did not vote in the presidential primaries, plus written statements of consent from 40 presidential elector candidates.
Kennedy is already on the ballot in five other states: California, Delaware, Michigan, Oklahoma and Utah. According to a report from Forbes, his team said they have collected enough signatures to also appear on the ballots in Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina and Ohio.
